POLICIES, RULES, AND REGULATIONS FOR GROUND BURIAL

General
- The President and Secretary of the Cemetery Board shall, under the Direction of the Board, grant and convey burial lots to purchasers by Certificate in the form prescribed by these rules, subject to all the restrictions, rules and regulations adopted by said Board, and the said restrictions, rules and regulations shall be embraced in or attached to such certificate of conveyance. Such grants and conveyances shall be made only upon payment of the price of each lot by personal check or money order.
- Lot owners and their family and friends accompanying them shall be entitled to visit the Cemetery from sunrise to sunset.
- It is of the utmost importance that there should be a strict observance of all the properties due the place, whether embraced within these regulations or not; and any person disturbing the quiet and good order of the place by noise or any other improper conduct-or who shall violate any of these Rules and Regulations-will be compelled instantly to leave the grounds.
- Grave owners shall be allowed to maintain their lots in good order and condition, but the Board reserves the right perpetually of beautifying and improving the lots and grounds within said Cemetery (without expense to lot owners), and for that purpose the Board shall have the right to grade, plant or otherwise improve said lots, or any of them in such manner as they shall deem reasonable or necessary.
- The Cemetery Board shall appoint a superintendent/manager, who shall have general care and management of the Cemetery, under the direction and control of the Board, and shall be removable at their pleasure. It shall be especially the duty of the superintendent to enforce all the rules and regulations, preserve order and prevent injury to the grounds, monuments, etc., and he/she shall perform all such other duties and services as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time.
- All contractors must have Lebanon Cemetery’s approval before any work can be performed on cemetery property. Contractors must submit a written proposal to the Lebanon Cemetery’s board of directors for review and approval.
- Personal checks or cashier’s checks will be accepted for payment to Lebanon Church Cemetery. No cash will be accepted for fees or payments. Identification may be requested.
- No dogs (except for service animals) will be permitted on the cemetery grounds. Service animals must always remain in vehicles.
- Lebanon Church Cemetery’s records will be used when grave owner’s original documentation is not complete or cannot be located.
- Graves are for human remains only.
- Monument companies, vault companies, and all contractors and or other companies must supply the cemetery with a current insurance certificate before performing any work on cemetery grounds. Likewise, grave owners who purchase a head or foot stone from a vender other than an established monument company must provide a current insurance certificate before performing any work on cemetery grounds. All insurance certificates must include at least $100,000.00 in liability protection and workers comprehension protection for its employees.
FUNERALS AND GRAVE SPACE
- Funerals are accepted Monday through Friday during the times of 9:00am to 3:00pm. Funerals arriving after 3:00pm on weekdays and Saturdays will be charged an overtime fee. Funerals are not accepted on Sundays, New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day. Funerals with less than 36 hours’ notice will be charged the overtime fee.
- All requests for burial must have a completed “Interment Order” signed by the lot owner or the lot owner’s heirs. Person signing “Interment Order” assumes responsibility for the location and ownership of said grave space to be opened. Interment Order must be presented to Lebanon Cemetery at least 24 hours prior to the funeral. All servicing fees and any past due fees are required before committal.
- At the time of burial, all lot openings will require the original deed and an interment/entombment order placed to Lebanon Church Cemetery by a funeral director of your choice. In addition, a vault is required for all burials except for cremations.
- Grave space is for one single casket (enclosed in a vault) and up to two single cremains burial or no casket and up to three cremains per one (single) grace space. The right to additional burials fee applies for every additional burial. No double-depth casket burials permitted.
- Grave owners that elect to use their single grave space for multiple burials must coordinate the order of burials and memorialization. Once a cremation has been buried in the grave space a casket burial cannot be buried in the same grave space. In addition, only one headstone and only one footstone will be permitted. Foundation orders for more than one footstone will not be accepted including a Veteran’s footstone.
- Existing lot owners may elect to transfer their existing vacant grave space for a different grave space within Lebanon Cemetery. Lot owners would pay the difference between the price they paid for their current lots/graves and the current price for the newly selected lots/graves. Deed transfer fee would apply.
- Existing lot owners may elect to sell or donate their existing vacant graves to a third party. Lebanon Cemetery requires the original deed to be surrendered to Lebanon Cemetery and a new deed issued. Deed transfer fee would apply. Lebanon Cemetery does not refund owners for purchased lots/graves. Lots/graves can only be sold to sole individuals and cannot be sold to groups, corporations, organizations, etc.
GRAVE SPACE MAINTENANCE AND MEMORIALZATION
- Planting of annual flowers is restricted to areas next to and eight inches in front of headstones. Borders, decorative stones, wood chips and fencing are prohibited.
- Bushes, trees, shrubs, perennials, lawn ornaments, benches, and other decorations will not be permitted. Lot owners are prohibited from hanging any decorations from trees. In general, any plantings, fences, boarders, which prevents safe grass maintenance of the cemetery grounds is prohibited.
- Families should remove all Christmas wreaths by January 31, or they will be removed by the grounds maintenance and discarded.
- All items deemed inappropriate, or listed as prohibited, faded, or deteriorated, or in disrepair will be removed and discarded from graves.
- Veterans’ flags and vigil candles will be located to the side of headstones only.
- Lebanon Church Cemetery is not responsible for any damage to headstones, footstones, vases, vigil candles, or any item installed by lot owner. Foundations for headstones and footstones that need replaced are the responsibility of the lot owner and must be ordered through Lebanon Church Cemetery.
- Graves located in Memorial Section (Circle Section) are prohibited to plant.
- Veterans of The United States Armed Forces are permitted one Veteran’s Marker issued by the United States Government. This veteran’s marker may be used as a headstone or as a footstone. Only one headstone and only one United States Veteran’s footstone per grave. Grave owners are responsible to pay for headstone foundation and Veteran’s foundation.
- Lot owners may have one headstone and one footstone installed per lot. All such monuments shall be erected and maintained subject to the general power of the supervision and approval of the Cemetery Board, and not otherwise. All foundations for headstones and footstones shall be ordered and installed through Lebanon Church Cemetery by the monument company of your choice. Monument companies must send a foundation order to Lebanon Church Cemetery for approval of monument size and location. Grave owners who elect to purchase a headstone or footstone from a source other than a recognized monument dealer must provide a detailed foundation order for cemetery’s approval before any such headstone or footstone is ordered or installed. Cemetery will remove any monument that was not approved by Lebanon Cemetery, Inc. If lot owner elects to have an existing foundation replaced it must be ordered and installed through Lebanon Church Cemetery.
